Happy New Year!

I can still say that even though we’re halfway through January, right?

Most days, I sit and think about all the things I’d like to write about; all the things I’d like to share with you. And then life gets in the way. How other bloggers who have a full time job manage to run successful blogs is beyond me - although perhaps they don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn for a breakfast show, constantly wondering when the next nap might be (sorry parents, I know you have it worse than me).

New Year’s Resolutions

I don’t really do new year’s resolutions. But perhaps this year I should try and make a more concerted effort to find time to write, as I enjoy it and find it quite therapeutic. I’ve been trying to persuade Rick to start a cooking blog, especially as he has time on his hands, so maybe we should set aside a certain time each week to spur each other on and do something.

I hope you had a good Christmas. I was working for most of it, though managed to sneak a few days off work between Christmas and New Year. My mum was over from Hong Kong, my sister and her family visiting from Australia, so we all went down to Kuching for a bit of a change of scenery. More on that in a different post to follow.

Christmas was hectic with a full house - but it was pretty exciting to host - and it was our first Christmas as a married couple: also pretty exciting (more so that we haven’t killed each other yet). We didn’t have a traditional Christmas tree so I spray painted some pineapples gold, which looked surprisingly festive. We were quite sad to see them go, actually.

2019 - More travel adventures

We have spent the last couple of weeks settling into the new year, and planning adventures for the next few months, which include Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Japan. We’re so lucky to be able to visit so many interesting places all the time.

So, hopefully this won’t be the last you hear from me for a while, if my goal to write more regularly goes to plan. We shall see…in the meantime, I hope 2019 is a happy one for you.
